We’re focused on developing the next generation of competent and social diverse young ladies through athletics, able to meet head on tomorrow’s challenges. The Georgia Sting Organization is comprised of volunteers, dedicated to providing quality, consistency, leadership and motivation to our youth participating in the program. The Sting Organization is a non-profit organization, putting all fees and funds back into the organization to offset the cost of uniforms, supplies, and other associated basketball gear.
The Georgia Sting Organization is committed to provide a quality program integrated with community and volunteer events. We are also committed to encouraging the players to pursue a top level education. We understand that basketball can be a vehicle that can assist a player achieve collegiate goals, but we know it takes a quality education to sustain any career. The below commitment charter is one of the first stages of success as we encourage commitment in all we do and all we ask of players, parents, and coaches alike.
The purpose of the Georgia Sting AAU Girls Basketball program is to provide players and coaches an opportunity to embrace the game of basketball. Our mission is to build character, confidence and self-esteem in young ladies using the concept of “old fashion” team work, developing their basketball skills to create opportunities, and to become a leader not a follower in school, church and life..
The Georgia Sting goal is to implement a program consistent with high standards of play and sportsmanship to last a life time. Not only are we concerned with teaching the fundamentals of basketball, but to also provide a home like environment while the girls are interacting with their team, other Sting teams, and our coaching staff through the various programs that we offer. The Georgia Sting Organization has provided Columbia County young girls, interested in playing basketball, an opportunity to compete at the highest level in Goergia and South Carolinia areas over the past 10 years. In 2001, amid rummors that the talent in columbia county could not compete on the bigh stage, sparked the beginning of the Georgia Sting. With just a few girls to fill a team, a couple on the bench, and two parent coaches, the Sting set out to shock the CSRA. As time passed, The Sting has grown from just one team to over 10 and over twenty coaches.
